SQL Data Engineer (Permanent)

Location: Cannock Country: UK Rate: + BENS
 

We are seeking a passionate and driven Junior SQL Data Engineer to join our team. As a Junior SQL Data Engineer, you will work closely with our data engineering and analytics teams to develop, optimize, and maintain SQL databases and data pipelines. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual who is eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and optimize SQL databases and data models to support business requirements.
  • Build and maintain data pipelines for efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and implement solutions that meet business needs.
  • Perform data analysis and troubleshoot issues to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Support Legacy Data Warehouse: Bug fixes, batch ETL processing and data related queries.
  • The Legacy DW is hosted on an On-Premises SQL server and utilises its satellite products such as SSIS, SSAS (multi-dimensional and tabular) and SSRS
  • Support and enhance new Azure data platform: Ingesting data into the medallion architecture using ADF and Databricks. Training given on the Azure Platform

Experience and Qualifications:

  • 2+ years minimum as an SQL data engineer
  • Degree in computer science or MS qualifications
  • A passion for learning and developing

Additional skills:

The below would be an advantage for any candidate but are not required.

  • Exposure to Azure data platform
  • Some experience with Power BI
  • Knowledge of DAX

A minimum of 5 years living in the UK for security checks is required.

This is a hybrid position
