Science Projects Manager - Fixed-Term

This is a 12-month fixed-term full-time role for 37.5 hours per week.

Our client, an environmental charity has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager. The successful applicant will sit within a world-class team of natural and social scientists, who gather the evidence to solve the complex challenges facing nature. By supporting the scientists to effectively deliver a diverse range of projects to tackle the joint climate and nature crises, you will assist the charity in creating a world that is richer in nature.

• Logical, methodical, analytical and with a good eye for detail.

Essential knowledge, skills and experience:

• Excellent communication skills to develop collaborative working relationships across the charity's teams and external stakeholders.
• Excellent writing skills, including the production of periodic reporting using Project Management software.
• Proven project/programme management skills to plan and manage programmes and projects, manage risks, costs, time and project teams.
• Experience of working with a range of stakeholders and funders such as UKRI, government statutory agencies, NGOs and industry partners.
• Experience of successfully managing budgets.
• Ability to influence others, communicate effectively, build collaborative relationships and represent the organisation.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
• Ability to solve issues quickly, efficiently and creatively. Ability to advise others on project management methodologies and approach.
• Great interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with people and to motivate and lead others.
• Impressive time management and organisational skills.
• Competent IT user (full Microsoft office suite of tools)

Desirable qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience:

• Project Management Qualification or appropriate training.
• Experience of using Cora or similar Project/Programme Management software.
• Experience of working on science projects.
• Demonstrable experience of developing and working in partnerships to achieve shared outcomes.
