In this role, you'll lead a talented team, guiding the analysis, design, installation and configuration of large-scale database management systems. You'll own the projects and the processes from prioritizing tasks and managing scope, to ensuring that all production changes are in line with lifecycle best practices and firm policies. In addition to building relationships with other managers and stakeholders, you'll be responsible for coaching and mentoring your less experienced team members, and helping to hire our next generation of technical talent.
Our Corporate & Investment Bank relies on innovators like you to build and maintain the technology that helps us safely service the worlds important corporations, governments and institutions. Youll develop solutions for a bank entrusted with holding $18 trillion of assets and $393 billion in deposits. The Corporate & Investment Bank provides strategic advice, raises capital, manages risk, and extends liquidity in markets spanning over 100 countries around the world.
This position is anticipated to require the use of one or more High Security Access (HSA) systems. Users of these systems are subject to enhanced screening which includes both criminal and credit background checks, and/or other enhanced screening at the time of accepting the position and on an annual basis thereafter. The enhanced screening will need to be successfully completed prior to commencing employment or assignment.
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience architecting, supporting and implementing advanced, strategic database management systems
  • Demonstrated ability to drive Agile development and implement automated process to improve database system reliability
  • Advanced knowledge of IT infrastructure, with a background in systems and network administration
  • Strong development skills in a dynamic programming language such as Python, Javascript, .NET, Perl, SQL, TSQL
  • Proficiency in multiple business disciplines and functions and knowledge about the firm's strategic direction
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results and provide good customer experience
  • Deep understanding of Goldengate, Streams and Big Data adapters required
  • Data Modeling experience required
  • Experience managing a team is required
  • Design, analyze, develop, test, debug, and document the DB components using PL/SQL and SQL Queries necessary to meet the business requirements of varying size and complexity
  • Experience in schema design, partitioning, indexes etc..
  • Hands on OLTP Performance tuning
  • Experience with JIRA, Jenkins and Maven
  • Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals
  • Perform code reviews and assist the team in supporting the application in all required environments.
  • Should be comfortable with Production support and weekend on call support
