J3A Recruitment are proud to be working with a leader within the Water Industry. A Tier 1 contractor who are growing at a rapid rate due to a healthy pipeline.

Due to further work allocation and a succesful tender for AMP 8, they are now seeking a General Foreman to support on various sites around the Devon area.

You will be working on the South-West Water Framework on projects ranging from 1M to 15M. Living within the South West region - ideally Devon, the successful General Foreman will be flexible to work days and occasional weekends with a good knowledge of CDM and experience working on water projects. Daily travel to site will be required.

You will be responsible for managing, maintaining and enforcing health, safety, quality, sustainability and wellbeing standards across the site/project.

What you will be doing

• Appraise the risk to the scheme in conjunction with the Project Manager and install and monitor adequate site security.
• In conjunction with the site management team, manage the project procurement process for suppliers and contractors in line with the Company processes and commercial best practice.
• Ensure the site fulfils all obligations for external compliance audit.
• Ensure Permit to Work systems, Inductions and Briefings are correctly carried out.
• Plan and co-ordinate the operational delivery of the project as required.
• Oversee the day-to-day construction processes and ensure co-ordination within the site team, client, and contractors.

What we will need from you

• Experience of working for a major sized Civil Engineering Contractor working on water frameworks
• Sound knowledge of construction methods, health and safety, and legal regulations as well as a comprehensive understanding and experience of a wide range of construction techniques and best practices.
• Experience of managing and developing staff.

Essentials

• CITB Level 3 Safety Course SMSTS (5 day).
• Appropriate CSCS card.
• First Aid at Work (4 day).
• Experienced in IT Packages eg Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
