Design Manager
Your new company
You will be working for a leading Tier 1 construction contractor with exposure to a wide range of projects up to £15m in value across public and private sectors and will take a key role in ensuring design programmes and quality standards are met through the effective management of external partners, internal stakeholders and client representatives.
Your new role
Responsible for the management and delivery of design information in accordance with the agreed design programme and deliverable schedule. Ensuring that appointed design consultants carry out their duties in line with their appointment, interrogating returns to ensure compliance with standards and briefs.
Design input at both pre-construction and construction stage of projects.
Assessing, mitigating and managing risks connected with design
Ensuring design and design work meets health and safety legislation, sustainable building standards (such as BREEAM - the Building Research Establishment's Environmental Assessment Method) and industry codes of practice
What you'll need to succeed
Demonstrable experience in a design role within a main contractor environment
Good working knowledge of statutory regulations such as Building Control and the Building Safety Act.
An understanding of the principles behind Whole Life Cost, Lifecycle Carbon Assessments and other sustainability measures.
Relevant construction qualification (Degree/HND or equivalent) Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture etc
Experience of BIM level 2 projects, including COBie data, LoDM
