Hays are seeking an interim Management Accountant for a national waste management company based in Leeds. This fantastic opportunity is a 6-month fixed-term contract working with some of the best professionals in the industry.

Your new role

This is a 6-month fixed term role with the possibility of moving to permanent, with an industry competitive salary of £60,000 per annum depending on experience. The role includes but isn't exclusive too:
Management Accounts: Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Variance Analysis: Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies and provide detailed explanations.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Cost Analysis: Analyse manufacturing costs and provide insights to improve cost efficiency.
Financial Reporting: Support the preparation of year-end accounts and liaise with external auditors.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
Business Partnering: Collaborate with various departments, including production and supply chain, to gather financial data and provide financial guidance.
Ad-hoc Projects: Assist with ad-hoc financial projects and initiatives as required.
What you'll need to succeed

Preferably, fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), although qualified by experience, will be considered

Solid background in management accounting, ideally in the construction industry

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills

Familiarity with MS Office Suite and financial software
