Maintenance Surveyor job, permanent, North Yorkshire, Social Housing, Local Authority, up to £50,000

Your New Role:
An established housing association in North Yorkshire is looking for a maintenance or building surveyor to join their team. Working in a small team to provide a professional and reliable service by delivering a technical surveying service, whilst ensuring the organisation delivers high performance, value for money, compliance targets and provides decent and energy-efficient homes.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct annual stock condition surveys to assess property conditions.
  • Provide clear instructions and supervision for in-house maintenance operatives.
  • Raise works orders for both in-house staff and external contractors
  • Produce accurate and concise reports using Office applications and bespoke software.
  • Manage contractors effectively.
  • Inspect properties, diagnose building defects, and create specifications.
  • Provide accurate estimates for building works.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of Health and Safety regulations.

  • What You'll Need to Succeed:
  • HNC qualification in building or construction or equivalent
  • Experience of property inspection, maintenance contracting, and front line working with contractors
  • Experience of planned and reactive surveying works
  • A valid driving licence is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with a diverse range of customers
