Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule Grade: 114 Salary: $15.52 - $25.44 Hourly (Dependent on Qualifications) Department: Police - Code Enforcement Division E-mail: (see below) ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS:Non rotating 40 hour work week, Monday through Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM; occasional community meetings or events before 8:00 AM or after 5:00 PM or on weekends as required. Who May Apply? All persons legally authorized to work in the United States Responsibilities. Conduct systematic investigations for the improvement and rehabilitation of environmental hazards at public and private premises Investigate solid waste violations Inspect interior and exterior of buildings that are unsecured and/or in sub-standard condition Investigate illegal signs, zoning, and building permit violations throughout the City Communicate daily with citizens Coordinate abatement of violations and partner with other departments and agencies to resolve issues and violations beyond the scope of Code Enforcement Document all investigations and inspections Ensure "Due Process" of law has been served by notifying all interested parties of property violations Participate in community meetings and public out-reach events May be asked to perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications. Requires an Associate's Degree. Minimum two (2) years of directly related experience. Bachelor's degree preferred. A combination of education and pertinent experience may be considered. Must obtain Basic Code Enforcement Officer Certification within one (1) year of hire. A valid driver's license is required. Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire Other Information: Benefits The City offers an excellent benefit package that includes:.
